Jen Woldrich is a ceramic artist based in Los Angeles and the founder of Stag Moon Ceramics. She has worked

with clay for over 25 years, ever since she first fell in love with making art as a child. Art class was always her

favorite place to be growing up, and that passion led her to earn a B.A. in Studio Art from Santa Clara University

in 2006, where she focused on ceramics but also studied sculpture, drawing, printmaking, jewelry making,

                                                      graphic design, and filmmaking.

Her journey started with sculptural work that often explored political and social themes important to her, and while she still love creating expressive, thought-provoking pieces, her practice has expanded over the years. These days, she enjoys creating wheel-thrown pottery, home décor, and a growing collection of handmade jewelry. Jen works mainly with stoneware, both on the wheel and by hand, sometimes letting the clay guide her and other times shaping something she’s held in her mind’s eye for weeks. On the wheel, she especially loves making bowls and small, three-footed trinket and incense dishes—that have become signature pieces in her collection.

Her work is colorful, vibrant, and often deeply symbolic. Much of it is inspired by her personal spiritual journey and features celestial imagery—moons, stars, dragonflies, and designs called “light codes.” She is constantly sketching new ideas, driven by emotion, music, nature, art, and a desire to connect through creativity.

Balancing vision with intuition, Jen works part-time creating from her home studio and at The McGroarty Arts Center. To her, art is magic—a way to transform emotion into form, to tell stories without words, and to bring something beautiful and meaningful into the world that didn’t exist before.
